We are all excited with the new work ahead of us, and can’t wait to start!  If you see us in the community, please feel free to ask us about some of the great things we have in store over the next year.

On Friday, November 9th, we held our Volunteer Appreciation Night with hypnotist Al Laudersmith.  The night was filled with many memorable moments (at least for those of us not on stage).  Most importantly, we took the time to celebrate the many hours and hard work our volunteers have so graciously provided.

Thank you all for your selfless devotion and for celebrating with us!  Please remember that the BCCA is primarily run by volunteers, so if you have some time or special skills you may offer please contact us at the Bragg Creek Centre for many volunteering opportunities.  We need you!

With the weather getting colder by the day, Bob Jackson, the Ice Man of Bragg Creek, has begun to flood the rink.  We are hopeful that there will be enough ice to skate on by December 1st.  We also ask that if you are driving by the rink anytime at night, that you keep an eye on the rink and the skating ‘shack’.

Last winter there were several incidents of vandalism and littering in the shack and around the rink.  We would like the whole Bragg Creek community to be vigilant so that we may curtail the number of incidents this year.   With your help, our ice rink will continue to be the envy of the foothills.

The Bragg Creek Centre will be hosting two festive family events in early December.  On Sunday, December 2nd, 2007, the Christmas in the Creek Family Festival will be in full swing.  Please come with your skates and helmets between 3:00-7:00pm.  It is rumored that a heavy-set, bearded man dressed in red will be in attendance.

On Saturday, December 8th, 2007, the Centre will be home to the annual Christmas in the Creek Market.  Please come prepared to buy many wonderful crafts and gifts for the holidays!

In closing, we ask that if you are new to the Bragg Creek area, that you come and visit the Centre, meet with staff, and take advantage of the many great programs that we offer in our community.  Also, please be sure to purchase or renew your annual BCCA membership.  It’s worth it!
